Charlotte Clews (charlotte_clews -- AT -- hotmail.com) was recently in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. She was the canopy climbing coordinator for an ecology graduate student course with the Organization for Tropical Studies. She writes, "Really though, I'm still living in Burlington, Vermont. I just finishing my masters at UVM in the Field Naturalist Program. I'm teaching yoga 4 nights a week and trying to put together enough artwork to make a living post-graduation. I am preparing for hiking the Continental Divide this summer, figuring out how to pre-package 400 lbs of food. Check out my website at www.geocities.com/backbonehike."

Nate Schierman (tamburlaine19 -- AT -- hotmail.com) left NBC in New York and is now living in Los Angeles. For a while he was working for the TV show Blind Date. "No, I cannot hook any friends up on the show," he says. "I decided to leave the superficial vulgarities behind. I now work as a zookeeper at the Los Angeles Waystation, a home for orphaned, neglected and otherwise endangered exotic wildlife. It's very exciting, sometimes scary work, caring for full grown lions and tigers. I was briefly in contact with Hyung Steele and John Abbey, but have been rather remiss in my emailing habits. Other than that, I have not run across any other NMHers. If any are living in the LA area, let's meet for drinks or something. Although I may not be making it to our reunion, I would love to get word from folks and hear how you all are doing."

Nicole Berry (nicole_berry -- AT -- hotmail.com): "I've been in SF now for two years and have managed to remain employed by the same company the whole time. I'm a project manager for website development and online advertising and can say honestly that I'm enjoying my job quite a bit. The folks with whom I work are fantastic and make the job worth it. I had the chance to hang out with Katie Barrows Chipps, Gretchen Davidsen, and Pete Guiney over Christmas back east and Rev Johnson here in SF. It's been great keeping in touch with NMHers. One of these days, Kambra Juve and I will finally get together now that she's in Carmel."

"Sophie McCallum's new last name is deSanctis" writes Molly Talbot, "I know this because I saw an article on her dad."

*Rachel Freeman* spent some time traveling in Baha and in Japan.

Amy Peltier writes, "Hi- I have been taking the scenic route but am now going to American U. in DC, majoring in accounting, and I hope to graduate in 2004. Write me at altltrk -- AT -- aol.com."

Kambra Juve (juvek -- AT -- hotmail.com) is now in Monterey, California. She's in a graduate program in military information technology and says she has aspirations of being one of the first people to actually use her degree. She has a Japanese Spitz named Sammy who barks when friends are at the door. What exactly is she doing in "military information technology" or in the Navy in the first place, I queried. Here's what: "The Navy has truly been good to me and has provided me with some amazing opportunities to embark on wild adventures. I was "forced" to do two fun-filled years in Italy and another two in Japan. Though my life has toned down since I've moved back to the States, I am excited to be back in school getting my M.S. in C4I systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) at the Naval Postgraduate School." She also writes, "If anyone happens to be in Monterey, look me up! I will be here until June 2003." Thanks Kambra; I'm glad you're on our side!

Chrystel Dawn Romero (chrystel -- AT -- hotmail.com) wrote about her latest adventures in Massachusetts: "My baby girl, Sierra, was in the hospital shortly after her first birthday. She was in the PICU and the doctors still don't know what it was, but they thought she wasn't gonna make it. Finally, I turned the radio on and started singing to her and she popped up and started to dance...two days later, she was discharged with a clean bill of health!" Obviously a case of dance deprivation, Chrystel! You are a miracle worker! "I'm back in Amherst, attending UMass, BDIC program in the fall and opening a small store inside a friend's store this summer. My store (Divinities) will provide necessities for practitioners of alternative spiritual paths: athames, chalices, rare herbs, powders, etc. You get my drift. There seems to be a need here. I got phone call and email from Yahuba Torres the other day. He sent a picture of his daughter - she is a gem! Well, my older daughter Miquelle is doing well, school is fine, I'm healthy and happy and glad to be back in New England and would love to hear from Letty or Celeste or Meaghan..."

Meghan Scheck (meghanscheck -- AT -- hotmail.com) writes: "Hey there! Greetings from Seattle! I am so glad about the barnraising at NMH. I have such excellent memories of the farm -- riding was always a break in the turbulence of my adolescent angst (ah, the sweet horrors of adolescence!)...Speaking of those lively young'uns, I'm in my third year teaching English at Renton High. Best part: I'm the Creative Writing teacher, which is fantastic. It's so electric to teach -- the kids can be very apathetic about school, but I've never NEVER seen that in this class. I'm hoping to set up a website version of our Arts & Literary Zine this summer when I'm not in school. Eeegads, though I fear for my sanity, I am spending my summer vacation starting my Masters in English at Breadloaf (at Middlebury). Then, back to Seattle for another school year. I'm still living with my beau, Josh, and thinking about heading back east sometime in the nearish future. I am still in touch with Rana Nichols-Kiley and Sara Noel, who have both been living in California for awhile -- Sara has been there as long as I've been here in Seattle (almost five years). I feel like an involuntary New England ex-pat -- I never meant to stay this long. Ai, yai, yai...I'm going on and on."

Jana K. Grube (janagrube -- AT -- gmx.de) wrote from Australia: "I've traveled as a backpackers from one place to the other for 2 months now. Before I arrived here I spent six weeks in New Zealand. I really enjoy my time, but unfortunately have to go back to Germany soon to start working as a school teacher. Australia is a great place to travel and I definitely recommend everybody coming here. I say Hi to everybody and especially to Robyn Ross, Maya Ribault, Rebecca Kessler, Edymar Ablan-Pacheco (92), Heide Stalla (94), Anna Schuleit and Aki!"

Erica Steckler (ESteckler -- AT -- aol.com) has got the traveling bug too: "I'm in Finland at the moment visiting relatives with my grandparents -- very special trip. I managed to see friends in Russia and London, and also great times in Paris and Normandy, as well as in Rome. I'll finish up with a family bike tour in southwest Ireland!"

Kristen Kashub (92) vacationed in Italy and now works at admissions at NMH.

I headed out to the west coast for a while this spring, spent some time at a Thai Buddhist monastery near San Diego, then 3 weeks in Hawaii (my 50th state) at organic farms before heading back to Vermont via the Bay Area and Seattle. I saw Tauna Szymanski (92) at Stanford where she's going to law school. I also visited a lot with Seth Schoen (97?) in San Francisco. Seth now works for the Electronic Frontier Foundation where he is the brilliant mind who bridges the gap between lawyers and geeks. Write to him at schoen -- AT -- eff.org. He also has a tremendous library of modern and classical books - and we had tons of fun referencing the classics in our discussions of free speech and psychology. After running a 50-mile race in September, I'm planning to be in Thailand and India next winter then back in the states at NMH for our 10th reunion in early June of 2003! Hope to see you there!
