On the way
back from the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, I stopped in to see
*Ryan Tie*. He is living in Boulder -- it was great to catch up. After
winning a stars and stripes jersey for his win in the Collegiate National
Cycling Championship while a student at Boulder, Ryan raced for the United
States National Cycling Team in the United States, Japan, and South America.
With his degree in environmental economics, he has now become gainfully
employed as a financial analyst with Monticello Associates, an asset management
firm specializing in charitable and educational endowments. He reminisces
about the East Coast sometimes and enjoys the photos of the day from the NMH
website. As for his racing, he's taken it down a notch but has accepted the
position of Head Coach for the University of Colorado cycling team, one of the
best collegiate teams in the country. In my few days in Boulder, Ryan and I
managed to get into a car accident in the car I had just bought, hit by an
uninsured motorist! He took a week off for vacation in September and spent it
in the Cinqueterre in Italy.
I received a postcard from *Seth Schoen* who is in the San Francisco bay area.
He is doing well, and I hope to see him at the Pie Race in October. *Xantha Bruso* spent some summertime in Alaska
and is now at MIT in Cambridge, MA. *Tim Pfeiffer* continues to study eurythmy
in Weed, California and visited the east coast in August.
