*Chrystel Romero * is still acting and hopes to move to LA in the next
year. She asks, "Has *Letty Diaz * fallen off the planet? Any of us
know where that woman went?" (You can let Chrystel know at
chrystel -- AT -- hotmail.com.)
*Nina Alturi * is doing well in Atlanta. *Danita Parrish * is also
doing well at home and is done with school for now. *Celeste Wilhelm *
is a teacher in New Hampshire.
*Oliver Cohen * ventured west of the Mississippi for the first time,
for a trip to Las Vegas... Judging from his email, his colorful humor
continues to blossom, ie: "Every single lobby in Las Vegas smelled like
an old lung." (Leave it to Ollie to visit every last lobby in Vegas -
for the full text of his adventure, email Oliver at
oliver.cohen -- AT -- spke.com or find him in the big apple.)
*Kingman Brewster * has been living in Seattle, working full-time in
social work with Russian immigrants. He eats fish weekly at his
potlucks with *Cully Thomas *.
*Erika Collins * wrote with a timely report of the Taiwan earthquake.
By late winter it will be dated, but I think she's a great writer and
has a great story: "It is Friday Sept. 24th in Taipei, and I have just
spent the past 3 1/2 days dealing with the huge 7.6 Earthquake that hit
Taiwan... At 1:45am Tuesday morning I was jarred awake by the violent
shaking of my hotel. Being from NH and not well-versed in Earthquake
protocol, I simply thought, "Oh, so this is an earthquake." It wasn't
until I heard people running out of the building and realized that the
power was NOT coming back on that I started to wonder... After about an
hour I decided that I should just go to sleep. 45 min. later I was
awoken by a frantic telephone call from my boss back in DC. She was
practically screaming into the phone and finally said to me, ‘Erika do
you realize you were just in an Earthquake!’. A huge aftershock rolled
through while I was on the phone with her and so I quickly made my way
outside where I spent the remainder of the night... My boss has
insisted that I get out of Taipei now and although I wouldn't be
uncomfortable staying I also have to admit that I don't
mind leaving for a few days... I was here when President
Lee made his ‘Two States’ declaration, I was here in the end of July
during the mysterious island-wide black-out (feared preliminary attack
from mainland China), and now I am here during the BIG earthquake."

*Carrie McColgan * is still living in DC and hangs out with *Hannah
Lord *('94) and *Erika Collins * all the time. Carrie is working at
Radio Free Asia and hosts unofficial NMH reunions on her roof. Hannah
is teaching at a charter school.
*Ali Wicks * is in Amherst, MA, *Sarah Bixby * is in medical school,
and *Jed Byrom * is in Japan.
*Makiko Harada * is doing an internship at the United Nations
Development Program in New York: "It's been giving me a valuable
experience! President Clinton was here at the UN yesterday and the
securities were extremely tight!! I did not get a chance to see him,
but I saw Kofi Anan on stage. If anyone from NHM is working for UN or
in NYC, please contact me!” (mh472 -- AT -- columbia.edu)
*Jake Posell-Wilson * is still in Northern California in Sonoma County
-- the land of redwoods and grapes. He works at a software company
developing software for special education and collect records like its
a disease: "I spin reggae, funk, soul, hip-ho and jazz twice a week at
local spots and am still on a six-year hunt for Alonzo Mourning, my old
roommate. I'm about to hire Inspector Gadget AND Encyclopedia Brown to
find him."
*Molly Goggins Talbot * was married on May 29th and reports that "it
was absolutely incredible and SUCH A BLAST!!" Something everyone
should try (at least) once I gather. "We took a 2 1/2 week honeymoon
to Northern Italy. So now we are starting our happily ever after and I
am very very happy. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a
dream!!!” Reports indicate that her husband is engaged in the legal
profession while Molly continues to trade bonds.
*Anne McCasland-Pexton * has also gotten married and is currently
living down under!
*Niki Berry * is living on the upper east side in Manhattan, running
into NMHers literally every other day: "I am keeping myself way too
busy working for Tommy Hilfiger. I spend summer weekends cooling off
in Connecticut and wish everyone my best." She also wanted to know
where to contact Aaron DiRusso... I was getting kind of curious myself
but just then I received some news in Erica Steckler's email...
*Erica Steckler * has been back from Yaroslavl, Russia where she was
working for Middlebury College last winter and spring. She spent the
summer working at a camp in Maine, and is now in Boston getting an MBA
at the Simmons School of Management: "I bumped into Aaron DiRusso one
day while he was on his lunch break, and recently met an intern who had
worked for him... No other nmh news though, except that I was back on
campus several weekends ago and it looks as beautiful as ever. I'd love
to get together with everyone who has congregated in Boston!"
*Justin Heckman * is living on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC:
"I am now a coffee trader. I ran my own company for about a year in
the music biz right after college, but it just didn't quite work
out, so I opted for a career change. Oddly enough I work with two
NMHer's (class of '83 I think)."
*Tim Pfeiffer * has built a 8' x 12' bungalow in Weed, California (100
square feet or over requires zoning). But despite the small footprint,
it has no shortage of living space -- I have a picture of the spire,
standing a good three stories tall.
Since quitting Amazon.com last spring, I have been hanging out in
Olympia, Washington on an organic farm. I just bought a 1977 GMC
conversion van so now I'm ready to roll again. Once I sell my Range
Rover, I'll be headed out East to help start a real estate company with
a college friend in Cleveland. Beyond that, I have a feeling I may be
in California by the time this News rolls to press. If you have an
email address, please send it to me so I can keep a record of it at
peter -- AT -- peterchristopher.com. And please keep in touch with all your
latest tales so I can put them in the Notes. I promise not to edit
your submissions beyond recognition.
